I had a very exciting weekend, and now I am delighted to finally get the chance to share it with you! First, I want to talk about my speaking engagement at the Professional Photographers of Canada Alberta provincial convention, Light Matters. I had been looking forward to this presentation for quite a while, and I was delighted to hear all the positive feedback I got from it! This Calgary Portrait Photographer was able to give a talk – although can you believe it? No one at the photography convention grabbed my picture while I was teaching!
I taught was is known as an “early riser” – which is to say, it’s an hour and a half long program that begins before the keynote workshop begins. That is to say, 7:00 am on a Saturday! I was surprised with how many people ended up attending considering how early it was. I also heard lots of great feedback, and I have been invited to give the presentation in a few other places! I’ll announce those as soon as everything is confirmed and contracts signed! I have LOTS to look forward to in the coming year!
And now on to the accreditations! Because of the convention, we were lucky enough to be the host city for the October accreditation. Which means I was able to slip out of the presentation I was watching and watch my images be judged live! It’s always a thrill when your images are accepted, but it’s the most beneficial when they are not, and you can hear the feedback the judges give to the makers. The true purpose for anyone submitting for accreditation or for an image competition is to do better than you did last time.
This round, I received accreditations in Portraiture and Nature – adding to my 5 other accreditations, Environmental Portrait, Fine Art, Animals, Child Study and Animal Portrait.
Check out my submissions below, along with the press releases!
Portraiture Accreditation – Calgary Portrait Photographer
The Portrait Class is a general portraiture class that includes studio photography, outdoors, and any type of situation you can imagine. The portrait class should contain individual portraits, groups, couples, as well as people of all ages – children through to adults.
Nature Accreditation – Calgary Professional Photographer
The Nature accreditation class includes all aspects of nature. While there are accreditations specifically for wildlife, landscapes, botanical and others, the Nature class encompasses all of them. A Calgary professional photography should be able to show proficiency in capturing all of nature!
